AlphaTauri extends Tsunoda's contract through 2023

Yuki Tsunoda has extended his contract at AlphaTauri. The Italian team announced this in a press release. The Japanese national signed for one season.
Tsunoda longer in F1
It had been in the air for some time, but on Thursday morning Red Bull revealed that Tsunoda will get a third season at AlphaTauri in F1. The Japanese driver entered Red Bull through Honda's training programme and earned his move to F1 after finishing third in the 2020 F2 championship.
With Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly, AlphaTauri has on paper completed the line-up for 2023, but there is a good chance Gasly will still leave the team despite an ongoing contract through 2023. He is expected to fill the empty spot at Alpine. While Colton Herta was first mooted as his possible replacement at the Faenza-based team, Nyck de Vries is now the big favourite for the seat.
