Brown expects no problems after Seidl leaves: 'That's what you want'

Zak Brown would have liked to keep Andreas Seidl at McLaren for longer, but understands that the British formation's former team boss is leaving for Sauber. However, according to the McLaren CEO, the team has enough qualities to continue on its current path. He therefore thinks successor Andrea Stella will do well.
"It's a big team with a tremendous amount of talent," Brown remarked to GPblog and others during an inserted press briefing. "I think any team or business for that matter, it's about the collection of individuals and the ways of working. Andreas did a great job, but I have no doubt that Andrea will pick up from today and carry us forward."
A challenge lies ahead for Stella. McLaren was already hoping to catch up with Mercedes, Red Bull Racing and Ferrari this calendar year, but saw that it still had a considerable gap. Over the next few years, McLaren hopes to make up for it.
Brown is convinced it is on the right track to achieve its goals. "I am very happy as Andrea mentioned with the racing team. I think we need to add some resources in certain areas, but I think we have a strong racing team. That's what you want."
McLaren CEO saw departure Seidl coming
In the same press conference, Brown revealed that he had known about a future move by Seidl to Sauber for some time. However, it was not expected to happen until early 2026, but the departure of Frederic Vasseur to Ferrari accelerated the situation.
