Hamilton on Leclerc rumours: ‘Doesn’t have any impact, no’

Lewis Hamilton has reinforced his position at Mercedes ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend, as he commented on the rumours surrounding Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc changing teams. Furthermore, he also commented on the upgrades the team is bringing for the upcoming Grand Prix.
“Maybe some of the drivers all have relationships with different bosses and stuff. I like where I am, I love my team. I am grateful for the journey we’ve been on and what we’re working on moving forwards. Doesn’t have any impact, no,” the seven-time champion told GPblog and others at Thursday's press conference in Baku.
Potential upgrades
It still seems like Hamilton is still positive about the team’s progression, following him finishing second in Australia three weeks prior. “I think it will be an upgrade, naturally, but I think it will be kind of the start of a new path for us.”
On the other hand, the Mercedes driver remained level-headed in terms of where his car sits on the grid. “So, we're not going to hit the ground and be where we wanted to be at the start of the season. We're not making up that crazy ground that there is. But I think it's really positive, so much great work has been done back in the factory. It takes time to progress in the right direction, so I'm excited for it,” he added.
