George Russell topped the timesheet for
Mercedes on the final day of post-season testing at the
Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, from
Charles Leclerc and
Lance Stroll.
Russell swapped his
Williams for the fastest car on the grid in 2019 for Mercedes. With Russell contracted at Mercedes, there are bound to be links with the pair in the future.
The former Formula 2 champion drove 145 laps, more than everyone except
Pierre Gasly in Abu Dhabi and went almost two-tenths quicker than Leclerc's Ferrari, who was in second-place at the Yas Marina Circuit.
