Final starting grid GP Monaco | Verstappen on pole, Perez starting last
The FIA has announced the final starting grid for the Monaco Grand Prix. There are no changes from the provisional starting grid, on which the grid penalty for Charles Leclerc had already been applied.
Max Verstappen starts from pole position after he conjured up a heroic third sector out of the top hat in his final flying lap of qualifying. Until then, the provisional fastest time was for Fernando Alonso, who will start from the front row alongside the Dutchman.
Leclerc has to surrender three places. The Ferrari driver had qualified third but was penalised by the FIA stewards for an incident with Lando Norris. Sergio Perez starts the race on the street circuit as the runner-up.
