Max Verstappen won the 2023
Hungarian Grand Prix at the
Hungaroring near Budapest. The Dutchman's win means Red Bull have now won the last 12 races in
Formula 1, setting a new record. Verstappen started from second place and beat pole-sitter
Lewis Hamilton into the first corner. The two-time World Champion went on to win the race comfortably.
Verstappen now has seven consecutive wins of his own.
Lando Norris achieved another podium for
McLaren, and
Oscar Piastri's fifth place ensured that their points total was high again. The Mercedes cars came alive with low fuel. Hamilton tried to hunt down Perez in the closing stages but couldn't do enough to rescue a podium.
George Russell made advances on
Ferrari and finished sixth because of
Charles Leclerc's five-second penalty. Aston Martin rounded out the top ten.
