The Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps often throws up surprises with the weather, so any forecast has to be taken with a pinch of salt. So far, it's predicted to be a very wet weekend in Liege.

Rain has hit the last six Grands Prix weekend, playing a major part on Saturday in Montreal, Spielberg and Silverstone. It also rained during the Grand Prix in Monaco and at various points in Barcelona. Rain fell on the Friday of the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, but it stayed away from the meaningful sessions. Sunday's race was featured one of the hottest conditions experienced by the cars and drivers in recent months.

What's the weather forecast for the Belgian Grand Prix?

According to Weather.com, rain is likely to fall every day from now until the F1 leave on Sunday night. Because it's a sprint weekend, F1 will only host one practice session on Friday. There is an 80% chance of rain during the day. Normally, that means there will be no running, but because conditions are set to remain that way throughout the weekend, teams might have to find the perfect setup in those conditions. Rain is set to continue through the afternoon and into the evening, so qualifying is also predicted to be wet. Click here to see the full timetable for the race weekend.

On Saturday, the temperature isn't predicted to get warmer than 18c. Again, there is an 80% chance of rain during the day. Thunderstorms are mentioned. For the actual Grand Prix on Sunday, the risk of rain reduces to 60%, and is labelled as showers. If you're going to the Belgian Grand Prix, take your coat!
