Red Bull has its business with rear wing and when it opens up, excellent. The RB19's top speed is good anyway, but when DRS is activated, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are completely untrackable. Possibly the Austrian racing stable will face a setback, as the FIA is reportedly considering abolishing DRS during qualifying.

From the very first moment this season, it was clear that Red Bull had done something special with the opening rear wing. Thanks to a 'gimmick', the Milton Keynes-based team developed a rear wing that handles the DRS extremely efficiently. The longer the straights and the more DRS zones the easier it is for Red Bull to create a gap towards the competition.

Only DRS in races?

DRS is always used in the battle for pole position too, it has been that way for years. But the usually well-informed Auto, Motor und Sport writes on Tuesday that Formula 1 plans to allow DRS only during races and no longer on Saturdays (or Fridays in case of a sprint weekend).

Whether Formula 1 wants to work on this to curb the RB19's dominance or whether there is some other reason behind it is not mentioned by the German medium. But: 'If the plans succeed, Red Bull would suffer the most,' it is written. Such a rule change cannot be implemented just like that, so it will also have to be discussed with the teams first.
