The United States Grand Prix is next on the schedule, bringing a slightly different schedule than usual. The 2023 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, will take place on Sunday, October 22, at 20:00 BST. It will be the 18th race in the 2023 Formula 1 season and is the penultimate sprint weekend of the season.

Max Verstappen won the 2023 World Championship last time out in Qatar, and Red Bull Racing won the Constructors' title in Japan. Given those results and the performance of the RB19, Verstappen and Red Bull are favourites to win again. There is still plenty to play for, including P2 in the Drivers' Championship, which sees Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso trying to catch Sergio Perez. They will get another chance in Austin but Perez will be trying to regain his form.

When will the drivers be in action?

The United States Grand Prix weekend will see the sprint format of Formula 1. Just one practice session will take place on Friday, with qualifying for the Grand Prix on Friday evening. The sprint format dominates the proceedings on Saturday, with the Sprint Shootout forming the grid for the sprint race. The main event takes place on Sunday at 20:00 BST (14:00 local time).
