Friday has been a long day for Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner. On this day he was questioned for the first time by an independent investigator. The interview lasted no less than eight hours.
The entire Formula 1 world is eagerly awaiting the results of Red Bull's independent internal investigation into Horner. The team boss is under a magnifying glass because of alleged transgressive behaviour he is alleged to have displayed. It allegedly involved "extreme authoritarian behaviour" towards a female Red Bull Racing employee. Horner flatly denies all allegations.
As part of the internal investigation, Horner had to be heard by an independent barrister. Friday's interview lasted no less than eight hours, reports Sky Sports. No conclusions have yet been drawn from the conversation. The interview therefore appears to be the first step in what could well become a long process.
Reporter Craig Slater understands that it will be quite a process and that the investigation is separate from the F1 calendar. So the investigation could well continue during the test days, or even during the first race weekend in Bahrain.
Conversation between Horner and independent lawyer concluded after eight hours Did they really conclude, or did they simply stop? There is a difference between the two.
"...Horner had to be heard by an independent barrister." In the presence of the alchemist, of course!
I'd love to see Christian call for an interview, just to keep it all short by saying everybody can go f*ck themselves. To never be seen in public again, sipping cocktails on his veranda.
"On this day he was questioned for the first time by an independent barrister." So the investigation has been happening for 2+ weeks, and this is the first time Horner got to tell his side of the story? Sounds very ominous...
Exactly. Horner has suffered a trial by media! This all sounds like a witch hunt, to instil a damaging rumour which has no factual basis! I guess we need to wait and see!
Agree. Trail by Media in the F1 world is the worse. All the speculations, conspiracy theories, hoaxes now and in the past is insane. Most of the time it's a egg in your face moment for some of the media outlets. Flex floor comes to mind. Same as the Suzie and toto investing. The media gets a sniff of something and then run riot with all their speculations. Pitting some people take them serious. That's why I will rather wait and see what the outcome of the hearing produce.
Is that the same trail by media Toto and Susie suffered last month, yep Horner and Helmet were laughing their socks of and rubbing their hands together, didn't see the same concern from redbull fans on here either
Good point! If their hypocrisy will hurt I think they will have serious pain...
Don't know. Could well be the same media! As for Redbull fans on here, don't know, I'm a Ferrari fan!
Waiting will do you no good, unless you plan on outliving the pyramids.
Yes, and eight hours of conversation can be seen as positive or negative for Horner. Neither is necessarily correct. It means that the process is thorough and whatever the outcome, it should put to rest speculation concerning process. I remain neutral in my opinion until I hear the results and the rationale.
The process will take a few more days, hopefully before the launch day . So a few more days of hearsay, gossip and tribalism.
Let me give my support to Christian in this way, and I hope that he will prove that he is not guilty, to the extent that he wants to be portrayed. And that they will continue, all together, where they left off, and come out of all this even stronger.
Nice after all those non news articles we get nothing on Friday.
