Jos Verstappen fears Red Bull falling apart: 'Can't go on like this'
Jos Verstappen warns that Red Bull Racing is in danger of falling apart if Christian Horner stays on as team principal. The father of three-time Formula One champion Max Verstappen feels the tension at the team and thinks the situation is no longer tenable.
Horner was cleared of transgressive behaviour after an independent investigation by Red Bull. A day later, an anonymous e-mail was sent to a long list of journalists and F1 pundits. The e-mail contained a link to screenshots of possible conversations between Horner and the Red Bull employee in question. The authenticity of these conversations cannot be established.
Jos Verstappen feels tension at Red Bull
According to Jos Verstappen, all the fuss has created so much tension within the team that he feels the situation is no longer tenable. "There is tension here while he remains in position," the Dutchman is quoted by Mail Sport. "The team is in danger of being torn apart. It can't go on the way it is. It will explode. He is playing the victim, when he is the one causing the problems."
Mail Sport claims that the bomb has burst between Jos Verstappen and Christian Horner and that the two had a blazing argument in the Bahrain International Circuit paddock after Friday night's qualifying session. Jos reportedly ran away afterwards, only to return to the office to shake Horner's hand.
Meanwhile, Horner's wife, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell Horner, remained close to her husband during the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend. The couple walked hand in hand into the paddock and they did not leave each other's side there either.
