This is what Horner says about the possible suspension for Helmut Marko
Christian Horner joined Viaplay on camera after qualifying. Of course, it was about Max Verstappen's pole position, but also about Helmut Marko's statements and a possible suspension.
For Red Bull Racing, qualifying in Saudi Arabia was very successful. With Verstappen on P1 and Sergio Perez on P3, the team is in a good position: "Yeah, very strong. Two laps that were quick enough for the pole position. The car's working well. Great to have Checo in P3 as well. So, strong qualifying from him," said the Red Bull Racing team boss.
Horner responds to Marko's possible suspension
Verstappen was again, by far, the fastest man after all the competition seemed close in the earlier session. Still, how is it that Max made such a difference in Q3? "I think that just comes from him. I think that, obviously, Q3 is the business end of the qualifying, and that's where he put everything together. His first lap was sensational, and that was good enough for the pole in the end."
And then the news of the moment: Helmut Marko possibly being suspended. The Austrian himself revealed that he might be suspended in the coming week and could count on support from Max Verstappen. "Well, it's the first I've heard of that, so I'm not sure where that rumour has come from," was all Horner would say about it.
Red Bull Racing reacted similarly to the stories about Marko. In addition, it is clearly stated that Marko is not part of Red Bull Racing but of Red Bull GmbH. There has not yet been an official statement from Red Bull GmbH about suspending Marko.
