Will Bearman drive for Haas next year? 'Was impressive to see him in that Ferrari'
Oliver Bearman has impressed after his inclusion in Saudi Arabia. His performance is reigniting the rumour mill, as he is seen by many as a great talent. Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu is also positive about the Briton.
Currently, Bearman is still competing in Formula 2 for the PREMA team. Also driving for that team is Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who is also seen as a great talent.
With two points, Bearman is not yet in a great position in the championship, but that is also due to his substitution for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari. Actually, the talent should have started from pole position in the main Formula 2 race in Jeddah. Because of his substitution, this was not possible. He drove his Ferrari to seventh place, putting him on six points in the Formula 1 championship.
Bearman to replace Hulkenberg?
Haas is the team most often mentioned as Bearman's next destination. Team boss Komatsu is therefore quite pleased with the race the Briton did, telling Speedweek: "He did very well and he proved how mature he already is. He understood what was expected of him and stayed faultless on a track where it is easy to make mistakes."
Komatsu continued: "It was an excellent performance. Last year we already realised he was a great talent, but it was still impressive to see how he handled the pressure at Ferrari."
