David Croft with fiancée in London while missing first Sky Sports F1 race

David Croft will not be commentating for Sky Sports in Imola. The British commentator will instead watch the race from home as he starts to cut back on the number of races he attends. Instead of preparing for or even flying across to Italy, Croft spent a rare weekend away from Formula 1 in London watching a concert.

Croft missing in Imola

If anyone deserves a race weekend off, then it's 'Crofty'. Croft will end his 100% attendance record with Sky Sports since they took over the rights to broadcast Formula 1 in the United Kingdom in 2012. Instead, Harry Benjamin will commentate on the race with Karun Chandhok for Sky Sports. Croft will also miss races in Austria and Azerbaijan later in 2024.

On Wednesday, Croft would usually be heading out to the race track to prepare for the weekend with Sky Sports, but he took the opportunity to enjoy a "date night" with his fiancée Laura Bradley. The couple visited the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre in London to watch a performance from The Black Crowes. Crofty reports that the American rock band performed with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.
