Ferrari would still be the leading candidate to recruit Adrian Newey, after Red Bull Racing's chief technical officer leaves the team in 2025. However, Frederic Vasseur, the team boss of the Italian pride, refused to confirm or deny that the Briton is about to come to Ferrari.

It is an open secret that Ferrari is doing all it can to bring in Newey, yet Vasseur prefers to keep a low profile on the subject. "I don't want to go into this subject because everything I say can be interpreted in a certain way," the Frenchman stated in an interview with Italian media. The Italian branch of Motorsport.com was one of the parties present.

"The most important thing is stability in the team. As I indicated before, we are moving in the right direction. Stability in the team, that is much more important than individuals and I would like to add that I am very satisfied with the current situation," Vasseur said.

Newey also reticent about future

Newey himself has been equally closed-minded about his future. The master designer has many teams to choose from; with Williams and McLaren also mentioned as possible destinations. Newey indicated at an earlier stage that he will take his time before making a decision. First, he wants to enjoy some time off, for example to tour South Africa in a camper van with his wife.
