After carrying his Mercedes home in first position at his home Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton also won GPblog's Driver of the Day at Silverstone. In a close battle, the Briton just came out in front.

Verstappen closely behind Hamilton

Similarly to the exciting 2021 season, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen went up against each other in GPblog's Driver of the Day vote after the British Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton won a Grand Prix for the first time since 2021, and could overcome the challenges posed by different conditions. The seven-time world champion got 45.8% of the votes.

Max Verstappen once again got the maximum out of his Grand Prix, but it was 'only' second place behind Hamilton on track. Driving a Red Bull that was a handful at Silverstone, the Dutchman was seconds away from victory. In the poll, he got 44.4% of the votes.

After another great sixth place finish for Nico Hulkenberg in the Haas, the German finished on the imaginary podium in the vote.
