Max Verstappen will have to start the
Hungarian Grand Prix from third place, behind the McLarens of
Lando Norris and
Oscar Piastri. View the full starting grid for the

Verstappen was just 0.046 short of pole position and just 0.024 short of second place. That does mean
McLaren fully occupies the front row of the grid and the Dutchman will have to go on the attack in the
F1 race. Next to him on the second row,
Carlos Sainz will start.
Behind Verstappen and Sainz,
Lewis Hamilton and
Charles Leclerc will start, ahead of Fernando Alonso and
Lance Stroll.
Daniel Ricciardo and
Yuki Tsunoda complete the top ten. For
Sergio Perez and
George Russell, qualifying ended in a drama: Perez crashed in Q1 and as a result did not progress beyond 16th place, Russell failed to improve and will start 17th.
