Ferrucci response to indycar crash
23 July at 23:00

During the weekend, a significant crash took place in IndyCar in Toronto. Pato O'Ward crashed into the barriers during the Grand Prix in Canada, causing a six-car crash. As a result, Santino Ferrucci was sent flying through the air. The American has now responded.

12 laps prior to the finish, Sunday's IndyCar race was red flagged due to a brutal crash. O'Ward's car slid into the fence, with Marcus Ericsson soon running into it. Ferrucci's car was sent flying into the air, eventually landing in the middle of the track after also hitting O'Ward. Others were also involved in the accident. Due to the large amount of debris, and scattered cars, the race was halted and won by Colton Herta. No significant injuries were caused by the six-car crash.

How did Ferrucci respond?

Immediately he radioed to confirm he was okay. Now, on Instagram, the American has provided an update. "Huge thank you to our AMR safety team and safety of these Indycars. I can’t imagine this crash happing without the aerosceeen. Very glad I was able to walk away with no injuries. We were tracking for a solid recovery after knocking the front alignment out at the start of the race. Thank you @ajfoytracing for not giving up today and continuing to push hard!! Onto the next." His team also provided an update on X, saying they were "relieved" was okay.
