It will be a rainy day at Spa-Francorchamps. It has just been confirmed that the first drops have fallen on the Belgian circuit in the Ardennes. This could pose a fresh set of challenges for the drivers and their teams.

The unexpected drops prior to the third free practice session typify the Belgian Grand Prix, where unexpected showers have been in the air on more than one occasion.

According to weather.com, rain is expected to carry on throughout the day, with an 83 per cent chance during qualifying later this afternoon. This morning, a 77 per cent chance of rain was predicted for FP3. This will allow the teams to test in the wet conditions ahead of qualifying this afternoon. Temperatures will remain cool, at 19 degrees celcius.
