Formula 1 is about drivers battling on track to be the best. But in recent years, tensions have boiled over on the pit wall. Christian Horner and Toto Wolff were going at each other and endured some heated exchanges in and around the 2021 Formula 1 season. Zak Brown and Horner aren't the best of friends this year, either. The McLaren F1 CEO wants to put an end to it as he challenges his rivals to a race on track.

Over the years, Zak Brown has been critical of Christian Horner and Red Bull Racing. First, about the Austrian team exceeding the budget cap, and then when there was an ongoing investigation of Christian Horner's alleged inappropriate behaviour, the McLaren CEO called for transparency. Tensions have increased more recently.

McLaren and Red Bull are now close competitors in Formula One, with the British team trying to chase down the latter in the constructors' championship. After 14 rounds, the gap between the two rivals stands at 42 points. Brown wants to take any war of words onto the race track.

Brown calls out his F1 rivals

During the summer break, F1 themselves posted a photo of the team bosses in racing overalls on social media. This included photos of Toto Wolff, Christian Horner, Zak Brown and James Vowles. Brown himself commented on photo and called out his rival bosses.

"I think we need to find out who's fastest," said Brown in the comments section. The businessmen added a winking emoji and F1 have since shared his comment on their main feed. The passion for racing is clear to see amongst those four men.

During the summer break, it seems Brown has been getting some practice in. A few days ago, he went onto the track at the Monterey PreReunion.
