Isack Hadjar is currently the leader in the Formula 2 championship. The French-Algerian driver is a Red Bull junior and thus often gets to deal with Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko. The 81-year-old Austrian regularly makes phone calls to the Austrian constructor's talent, Hadjar revealed to The Red Bulletin.
Hadjar calls Marko
"Yes, I have his phone number. I call him sometimes," revealed the Red Bull junior, who previously drove in FP1 Red Bull's Formula 1 team during the British Grand Prix weekend. With 165 points in Formula 2, the driver has a sizeable 46-point lead over Gabriel Bortoleto. Marko said a few days ago that he was lyrical about the motorsport talent.
When Hadjar calls Marko, the Austrian actually answers. "Always, and if he doesn't answer, he calls you back. I get on well with him and when I call him it's not to talk nonsense. (laughs) Sometimes, if you're doing badly, it's better to anticipate it and call him before he calls you. I have learnt that he appreciates it, he is cooler then."
