The
FIA has announced the provisional starting grid for the
Dutch Grand Prix.
Lando Norris starts from pole position with hometown hero
Max Verstappen alongside him.
Lewis Hamilton and
Alexander Albon face a challenging
Formula 1 race; both drivers were penalised by the stewards after qualifying.
Provisional starting grid Dutch GP | Verstappen from P2
Behind Norris and Verstappen,
Oscar Piastri and
George Russell start from the second row.
Sergio Perez is well placed in P5, just ahead of
Charles Leclerc. Behind them, Fernando Alonso and
Lance Stroll are together on the fourth row of the grid. Stroll moves up one place due to the disqualification of Alex Albon, whose
Williams did not pass the technical inspection.
Pierre Gasly and
Carlos Sainz complete the top ten. Besides Albon, Hamilton was also penalised. The Mercedes driver obstructed Perez during qualifying and was given a three-place grid penalty for doing so. Albon's disqualification means the Briton gains another place, but he still has to settle for a fourteenth starting position.
