Adrian Newey will join the Formula 1 team owned by Lawrence Stroll, the father of Lance Stroll. Newey announced his departure months ago from Red Bull Racing after working at the Austrian team for many years. But even after leaving, Newey still cannot reveal the secrets behind the Red Bull cars he designed.

He may be working for another Formula 1 team, but the Brit is still reluctant to say too much about Red Bull's cars. The designer helped Red Bull and Max Verstappen, to several world titles within the premier class of motorsport. In 2022 and 2023, Red Bull dominated Formula 1, which made many teams curious about the car Newey built.

Newey does not want to say too much about the current car either. "So RB18, the ‘22 car, was very much the car that set the subsequent evolutions of the RB19 and the RB20, so they are relatively conservative evolutions, last year’s car in particular, of the original RB18 concept. So talking through the car, there are some bits that I don’t really want to talk about…," he said on the High Performance podcast.

Why doesn't Newey want to reveal much?

Newey also explained why he did not want to reveal too much about this. "Formula 1 is a very secretive business. Some people liken it to warfare, I’m not sure that’s particularly correct, but it’s a secretive business where we’re all competing against each other, and we’re desperately trying to hang onto our intellectual property that other teams don’t copy or understand."
