Liam Lawson has made his decision on what number he will race with in
Formula 1. The New Zealander replaced Daniel Ricciardo at Visa Cash App RB after the
Singapore Grand Prix, and he will remain in the seat until the end of the 2024 season.
Liam Lawson -
Daniel Ricciardo' s replacement at
Visa Cash App RB - has chosen his race number for his Formula One car. The New Zealander drove number 40 in his raid races in 2023, but he will not be seen with it for the remainder of 2024.
Lawson changing numbers from last year
Lawson has had experience behind the wheel of an
F1 car during a Grand Prix weekend, filling in for Ricciardo when he injured himself at the 2023
Dutch Grand Prix, with the New Zealander impressing during those performances. He will get the same opportunity to do so as the 2024 season nears its conclusion.
While Lawson raced with the number 40 during those races, he will not do so this year. Lawson will drive the remainder of the 2024
F1 season with number 30, VCARB recently confirmed to
GPblog. The specific reason behind this is not yet known. Lawson will partner up at VCARB with
Yuki Tsunoda, just as he did in 2023. After
Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo,
Sebastian Vettel and many more drivers, Lawson is another
Red Bull Racing junior to be given a chance in
Formula 1.
With the second seat at the
Racing Bulls for 2025 still available, some more strong performances from Lawson will highlight himself as the best possible choice for next season.
