Carlos Sainz on f1 circuits where ferrari can hurt red bull and mclaren

Sainz lists the "good circuits" where Ferrari can hurt Red Bull and McLaren

Carlos Sainz has said there are some "good circuits" coming up that could see Ferrari race away from McLaren and Red Bull like last week at the United States Grand Prix. They earned their first 1-2 in the USA since 2006 at the Circuit of The Americas. But the Spaniard says more might come in the final five races of the 2024 season.

The Mexican, Brazilian, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix are the final races of what has been the longest season in Formula 1 history, and in Brazil and Qatar, we will also see the final two sprint races of the season. After Ferrari's super result in Austin, Texas, they closed the gap in the constructors' championship, sitting just 48 points behind McLaren in first.

The pace of the Prancing Horse is very interesting to keep an eye on, with not many people seeing that 1-2 finish coming for the Italian team. But Charles Leclerc's third win of the season highlighted how strong of a finish they could have, and that the constructors' title may not be out of their reach if they can find that pace at some of the remaining races.

Sainz 'hopes' Ferrari's pace will 'show itself again'

But which of the reaming circuits will Ferrari and their new upgrades excel at? Sainz had his say: "If I would have to bet, Mexico and Vegas are good tracks based on last year, I'm basing myself a bit on last year. This year, everything seems a bit different. I think Qatar is going to be a bit of our bogey track, I would have to bet with my money."

As for the season finale in Abu Dhabi, the Spaniard does not know how the SF-24 will behave: "Abu Dhabi, I'm not sure. I'm not sure what we're going to achieve in Abu Dhabi, but let's see. I just hope this pace shows itself again for the end of the season and gives me another chance of going at it."
