Marko very critical of Lawson, Tsunoda and Perez: 'That's not smart'

In his column at Speedweek, Marko concluded that Perez had "a bad weekend". "We know qualifying is not his strongest point, but nevertheless his elimination in the first part of qualifying is very disappointing," said the consultant, who had then expressed surprise at the Mexican's starting incident. Perez was not properly positioned in his starting box, which earned him a five-second time penalty. "For a man with his experience to misplace the car in his starting box is not smart and a huge shame," he said.

Marko accepted Lawson's excuse

Perez got into a fierce battle in the race with Liam Lawson who races for Red Bull's sister team. Marko found both drivers "too impetuous" in their fight. "Liam even gave his opponent the finger, for which he later apologised and we accepted that," the adviser said.

Marko was also anything but satisfied with Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese driver made two mistakes in Mexico. "The spin in Q2 was doubly annoying because it not only ruined his own lap but also Lawson's. I think Yuki is feeling the pressure from Lawson, there is no other explanation for this mistake."
