Ricciardo smiles from ear to ear away from the F1 paddock
Just a few months ago, Daniel Ricciardo would've expected to have been racing in Brazil this past weekend. But after Red Bull and Visa Cash App RB ousted him from his seat in favour of Liam Lawson, Ricciardo suddenly changed his plans. Undoubtedly, it would've been a tough and bitter pill to swallow for the eight-time Grand Prix winner. But Ricciardo has managed to find his smile again after a weekend with friends in Buffalo.
Ricciardo struggled to match up against Red Bull junior Yuki Tsunoda at VCARB. The Australian was often beaten by Tsunoda in the race and qualifying. In fact, Tsunoda nearly scored twice as many points as Ricciardo in the 2024 season. Red Bull Racing also saw Sergio Perez struggling alongside Max Verstappen and wanted to assess their options with Liam Lawson for the remaining races. This meant Ricciardo had to leave.
What is Ricciardo doing after leaving Formula 1?
Instead of being present in Brazil, Ricciardo enjoyed himself in the United States with his friends. The former Red Bull driver has shared photos of his weekend on social media. He watched the NLF team, the Buffalo Bills, play a game against the Miami Dolphins. Ricciardo can be seen supporting the Bills as he is dressed in the merchandise. Fortunately for Ricciardo, the Bills won the game.
In the photos and videos, Ricciardo can be seen smiling, laughing and enjoying himself. He even seemed to have fun driving a golf cart on the road and enjoyed moments on the pitch. The Buffalo Bills noted the post and replied: "You're welcome anytime!".
