This is the final starting grid for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
- Sandy van Wijngaarden
The FIA has announced the final starting grid for the final Grand Prix of the season. McLaren have a 1-2 as they look to seal the constructors' championship, while Max Verstappen starts from P4 due to a grid penalty from Nico Hulkenberg.
Lando Norris, after his pole position on Saturday, will be allowed to start the Grand Prix from first place. Oscar Piastri will start from P2. The McLaren drivers will try their best in the last race of the season to clinch the constructors' title for McLaren.
Carlos Sainz will start from P3. Together with Charles Leclerc, who starts from P19 due to a 10-place grid penalty, the Ferrari drivers will do everything they can to deny McLaren the title.
Originally, Nico Hulkenberg was supposed to start from P4, but a three-place grid penalty means the German will start from P7. As a result, Verstappen, Pierre Gasly and George Russell move up a place. Fernando Alonso will start from P8. Valtteri Bottas will be looking for his first points of the season from P9. Sergio Perez will start from tenth place.
In his final race for Mercedes, before he moves to Ferrari in 2025, Lewis Hamilton will start all the way down in P16 after another disappointing qualifying session.
