Mansell wants Hamilton to match Alonso and Raikkonen's record at Ferrari
F1 News

Nigel Mansell hopes that the duo of Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton could be successful in 2025. The 1992 world champion believes the Scuderia are 'long overdue' success in the competition.
Nigel Mansell himself joined Ferrari back in 1989, chasing his first title in the competition. The British driver has won three Grands Prix with the team, but had to wait until 1992 to earn his first drivers' championship.
Now, another Briton embarks on a journey with Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton. Mansell hopes that the seven-time world champion will be able to add another to his name. "Ferrari are so long overdue to win the drivers and constructors' championship so with Charles Leclerc and Lewis (Hamilton), I really hope that they get it done. It’d be magical for Lewis to win another world championship and I wish him all the best," he said to Mail Sport.
Hamilton already victorious in Melbourne?
In less than a month's time, the F1 season will get underway in Melbourne, Australia. "It would be a dream come true for Lewis to win the first race with Ferrari because that then sets the pattern for the rest of the season," Mansell explained.
In the 2000s, two drivers could win their first Grands Prix with the Italian squad: Fernando Alonso won the 2010 Bahrain GP, while Kimi Raikkonen was victorious in Melbourne at the season opener of the 2007 season, which was also Hamilton's debut Grand Prix in the competition. For Sebastian Vettel, it took two attempts to win, as he first won the 2015 Malaysian GP with the Italians.
