During F1 75 Live at the O2 Arena in London, Red Bull Racing's Christian Horner and Max Verstappen were treated to a heated round of booing by the crowd in attendance at the event, something Mercedes team principal, Toto Woff, downplays in conversation with Sky Sports.

Many people have criticised the crowd's actions during F1's 75th anniversay celebrations with the FIA issuing a statement condemning people booing Horner and Verstappen, with the father of the latter, Jos Verstappen, even stating his son, Max, would not be making an appearance to a similar event were it to take place in England.

Whilst in Bahrain, ahead of the start of winter testing, Wolff has shared his thoughts on Red Bull Racing's team principal, and long-time rival, Horner, being booed at the O2 Arena: "We shouldn't talk an event down that was mega because one single individual, rightly or wrongly, was booed when he spoke," said the Austrian.

Wolff qualifies booing crowd as 'great spectators'

Wolff would rather take the positive from the evening and qualifies the booing crowd as "great". "It was a great event. The spectators there, were great, the presentation of the cars was good and it sets a new format for the years to come and that is the positive we need to take from that."

Was the Mercedes team principal booing? "I wasn't booing. There were 15,000 people that did that." Does the Austrian also casually dismiss the boos toward the Red Bull Racing driver, Max Verstappen he so coveted in 2024? "I don’t think he [Verstappen] got booed exactly, there was plenty of cheers I heard for him as well," concluding that "I think, as you say, I don’t think that Max was booed."
