Carlos Sainz in his brand-new Williams topped the timing charts at the end of the second day of Formula 1 winter testing in Bahrain, with Lewis Hamiton just behind in P2.

The Spaniard was one of two drivers to be behind the wheel of his 2025 challenger for the whole day, along with Liam Lawson, and he made the most of it, completing 127 laps and ending the session in P1.

There were no delays throughout the day around the Bahrain International Circuit after yesterday's testing was extended by an hour due to a power cut that plunged the circuit and the garages into darkness as the sun went down.

No such delays troubled the teams and drivers today, however, and it was the two Ferrari's who finished in P2 and P3, respectively, with Hamilton ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc, with the Monegasque driver taking part in the afternoon.

George Russell in P4, who competed in the morning, and Andrea Kimi Antonelli rounded out the top five, with the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll in sixth ahead of Lawson in P7.

Jack Doohan's Alpine finished in P8 thanks to his afternoon session running, with teammate Pierre Gasly finishing in P9 ahead of rookie Isack Hadjar, who rounded out the top ten.

Lando Norris also took part in the afternoon session, but after setting the fastest time yesterday, he was only able to come in P14 when the chequered flag fell. Gabriel Borotleto in the Sauber was the last of the afternoon runners, finishing in P15.
