There has been much talk recently about Max Verstappen possibly moving to Aston Martin. While it is currently only a rumour, a familiar face just began working for the British team, Adrian Newey. According to Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, it makes sense that teams are chasing the defending champion.
Marko responds to Verstappen to Aston Martin rumours
Marko gave an interview to Austrian Oe24 where he said that it makes sense for Verstappen to be a top candidate for any team. "Any top team chief who wants to compete for the world title must be interested in Max. But now let's win the fifth title first," Marko began.
Newey started at Aston Martin last week
Last week, Newey started his first official working week at Aston Martin. The team shared a picture of Newey at the Silverstone-based factory on social media. His wife, Amanda Newey, reacted playfully to the news about her husband. "I can't wait to see you again, dear husband! Let's catch up in about five years time," she joked in response to Adrian being back at work after his gardening leave.
Marko points out that the focus is now on winning Verstappen's fifth world title. The season starts next weekend, when the Australian Formula One Grand Prix is scheduled, so the hunt is now on.
