Esteban Ocon is still confident he'll make his return to the
Formula 1 grid next season. The Frenchman missed out after
Lance Stroll moved to Racing Point in the winter.
Ocon sits at the back of the
Mercedes garage during most weekends. At the start of the year, he was hoping to take over from
Valtteri Bottas, but the Finn has been on fire.
Toto Wolff continues to back his junior driver. And with a management team working hard, Ocon is still hopeful they'll seal a deal with a team in 2020.
"It's not easy to not be in the car, especially at a place like Montreal, but my management team is working hard to get me a ride for next year," Ocon told Le Journal de Montreal.
"I have to show patience and I hope it will be rewarded. I help the team a lot in moving the car forward and I'm learning a lot. It's no coincidence that they have won the last championships."
