After a historic season in which he won 11 races to secure his sixth drivers' championship and Mercedes' sixth consecutive constructors' championship, Lewis Hamilton was beaming with pride of his team, saying the W10 is a "piece of art".
Hamilton completed a dominant weekend at the Yas Marina Circuit as he had a Grand Slam; getting pole position, leading every lap of the race and setting the fastest lap.
It capped off another incredible year for the 34-year-old, who is seemingly getting better as the years go on.
"Honestly I'm proud, definitely, but super grateful for this incredible team and all the people at Mercedes who have continued to push this year - and who would've thought at the end of the year we had the strength and we've learned and tried to extract more out of this beautiful car. It's a piece of art," said the six-time champion to David Coulthard on the grid.
Speaking on the two drivers he shared the podium with, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, Hamilton knew he will have future title rivals in that pairing, with Verstappen winning three races in 2019 compared to Leclerc's two.
"These guys... there's a lot of youngsters coming through... it's great to be in a period of time where there are lots of youngsters coming through and I'm privileged to be here while they come through."
