Wolff: "We got beaten fair and square by Red Bull, hats off"
- GPblog.com
It is only a few days ago that Max Verstappen won the second Grand Prix at Silverstone, but Mercedes has not been sitting still in this short period of time. Toto Wolff gives Red Bull Racing a compliment after their victory at Silverstone, but seems to hint at an improvement in tyre management himself.
Lost to Red Bull
"We got beaten fair and square by Red Bull, and hats off to them again for the job they did", Mercedes team boss Wolff starts his look ahead at Toto Talks Spain. "We were clearly the only ones regarding blistering tyres and it was important to find out what exactly caused it and what we can do to mitigate it in
the future."
Despite the fact that the team has only had three days since the second Grand Prix at Silverstone, Wolff hints at an improvement with his team: " We used the last few days to build a better understanding of the problem and translate that into ways to address it in the future.", the Austrian continues.
Heat in Barcelona
According to Wolff, the heat on the circuit in Barcelona will play a role again during the race. He says Mercedes' performance seems stronger in colder conditions. "The heat will definitely make it a lot more challenging", he concludes.
