Steiner confirms rumours: 'He's on the shortlist for 2021'

Haas' drivers are on edge, as it is becoming increasingly likely that Günther Steiner will opt for a completely new lineup in 2021. Billionaire's son, Nikita Mazepin, is one of the drivers on the shortlist.
Over the past three seasons, Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean have continuously gained the confidence of Haas, but Steiner's patience is similar. The team boss is clear in the media about the drivers of 2021. These could be whole new drivers. Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg are mentioned, as well as Nikita Mazepin.
Mazepin to Haas?
''I think I said before that the F2 this year seems very competitive and Mazepin is one of those good drivers, because he is now fifth or sixth. He's already won races, so let's put him on the list too'', says Steiner to Motorsport.com, about his now infamous shortlist, which already contains about ten names. However, Steiner takes this very seriously.
''There's a lot of talent and that's why I'm in no hurry to make my decision. I think it is fairly clear who is good and who is not based on what we have seen so far. As I said there are quite a few talents in Formula 2 this year, so then you don't have to wait for the last races'', said Steiner, who doesn't necessarily want to wait for the last races in Bahrain, although some in F2 still have to secure their super license through a good final ranking.
