OFFICIAL: Grosjean to race for Dale Coyne Racing in IndyCar
- GPblog.com
Romain Grosjean has announced he will continue his racing career in IndyCar. He has signed a contract with Dale Coyne Racing.
No Indy 500
Grosjean will drive on street circuits and regular tracks. "I'm extremely excited to move to the United States and compete in the NTT IndyCar Series," Grosjean told Motorsport.com. "I had several options for this season and the choice of IndyCar was quickly made, it was my favourite."
The Frenchman has decided not to race the ovals and superspeedways and will therefore not be in action in the Indy 500. "I also have to admit honestly that I am not ready for the ovals yet. IndyCar has a more level playing field competitively than what I've seen in my career so far. It will be a nice challenge to go for podiums and wins again."
Eager to learn
Team boss Dale Coyne is delighted with Grosjean's arrival. "I understand that Romain is really very eager to learn. He does everything he can to build a good relationship with his engineers and works hard to find solutions to any problems. That's exactly the attitude you want from a driver. It's certainly important to start like that in a class that is completely unknown to him."
