Sainz: "I think it's way too early to say that"

Ferrari need to come out of the doldrums in 2021. The dramatic end of the 2020 season needs to be erased and the first step seems to have been taken. Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc are happy with the first day of testing in Bahrain.
Ferrari slowly climbs out of the valley
"In general I think today was a positive first day of testing, where the target was to complete our whole run programme and we did it, so happy with that", says Sainz via the website of the team.
"I guess everyone wants to figure out the performance of each car after today, but I think it is way too early to tell, and very difficult to know in these kind of conditions", continued the Spaniard. The afternoon session in particular was tricky in Bahrain due to a big sandstorm.
Still too early for reviews
Sainz is supported by his teammate Leclerc, who is also happy with the first day of testing: "We completed the whole programme without any major problems and the first impression of the car is pretty good. But obviously, it’s far too early to give a full assessment."
