Murray Walker, the legendary British motorsport commentator, died on Saturday at the age of 97. He was best known for his distinctive voice and enthusiasm.
Walker started as a Formula 1 commentator in 1976 and remained so for a long time. The British Racing Drivers' Club reported on Saturday that the iconic commentator has died at the age of 97. The cause of death is not yet known.
Walker became known for his enthusiastic coverage of Formula One races, becoming perhaps the best-known and most iconic motorsports commentator in the world. After he retired as a full-time commentator in 2001, he continued to appear frequently during British Formula One broadcasts.
