Hamilton sees no problem in exceeding track limits: 'Didn't gain any time with it'

Three weeks after the Bahrain Grand Prix, the track limits in Turn 4 at that circuit are still a debatable topic. Several drivers, including leading driver Lewis Hamilton, were asked about this at the press conference before the race in Imola.
"I haven't thought much about it since the race," said the world champion. "For me I think it was very clear, but it's a strange corner, that Turn 4. They said they wouldn't police it during the race."
Statement from the FIA also caused confusion for Hamilton
And so Hamilton decided right from the start of the race to drive here with four wheels off the track. It became a point of discussion when Red Bull Racing drew the attention of the race committee to it midway through the race. They then came out with the message that they were monitoring Hamilton, a statement that caused widespread confusion.
"Then suddenly I got that message during the race and at first it was unclear. But I didn't lose any time with it and I didn't gain any time with it either. At best it helped with saving the tyres. If you look at the data, it was just as fast, so it's not an issue for me," Hamilton said.
