Hamilton: 'Hopefully they'll eventually go through the opening their mind phase'

Lewis Hamilton stood out prior to the Turkish Grand Prix with his clothing style. The driver came to the circuit in a striking outfit and seemed to want to make a statement. At the press conference, he gave an explanation.
The British driver is known for his love of fashion, which is why Hamilton thinks about his outfit almost every weekend. For example, during the Dutch GP he was fully dressed in orange. "Anyone can wear whatever they want," Hamilton said in a conversation with Autosport.com. "There will be people that don't understand it, but that's okay. Hopefully, they'll eventually go through the opening their mind phase and let people be who they want to be."
The Mercedes driver realises that the Formula 1 world is not the place to be concerned with fashion. "I always felt like it was always a place that it wasn't easy to be yourself. And when I went to a fashion show, when you're in a fashion week for example, you're surrounded by people from all different walks of life, expressing themselves in different ways."
Engine change for Hamilton
Mercedes are considering applying an engine change to Hamilton's car this coming weekend, forcing the Briton to start from the back. However, the German stable has not yet made the decision.
