Oscar Piastri is in the best position to win the championship in F2 this season. As the rule is that an F2 champion is not allowed to defend his title, the Australian has to look for a new challenge for next season.

Focus on F1

It looks like Piastri will not race next year. Most likely he will be a reserve and test driver for Alpine, to possibly get a race seat a year later. "As much as I will miss racing, because I don't think I will be racing next year, I think there is a bigger picture. I have to focus on being in F1," the Australian told Formel 1.de.

Esteban Ocon knows how it feels to be on the sidelines. The current Alpine driver had to watch one year when he had to make way at Racing Point for Lance Stroll. Ocon is certain: "It won't be long before Oscar comes into Formula 1."
