Alonso can't believe it: 'Everyone asks if I'm disappointed'

Fernando Alonso will start from P4. The Spaniard seemed to be in the mix for a place in the front row, but he lost time in the last sector. Still, he told Sky Sports that he is happy with the result.

"I'm super happy," said the Aston Martin driver. "The three questions before yours were if I was disappointed which was a surprise for me because to be on the second row, we cannot be disappointed."

Alonso: 'Need to hold this in the race'

Alonso continued: "Five days ago in Bahrain we saw that we are the fastest team behind McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull and now to be in the mix with them at least in one lap performance is great news. We need to ensure this tomorrow. In Bahrain, we were strong also in one lap and not so strong in the race. We made a couple of changes to improve that, so let's see if it works tomorrow."

Alonso has Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez ahead of him. The McLaren's and the Mercedes drivers are behind him. Lance Stroll is unlikely to give Alonso any help during the race. The Canadian will start tenth.
