It was a good day for the AlphaTauri drivers.
Pierre Gasly managed to finish both practice sessions in the top five and
Yuki Tsunoda finished the second free practice session in the top ten. The Japanese driver is optimistic about the performance of the team and the car.
Tsunoda is currently fourteenth in the championship with twenty points. His best result this season was sixth in Hungary and so far he is satisfied with eighth place in the second free practice.
The Japanese rider has enjoyed the track and is eager to drive again tomorrow. "I’ve enjoyed today a lot as it’s a really fun track, especially the first sector, I’ve never driven a circuit with corners like this before, so it’s been pretty special," said the AlphaTauri driver in the team's press release."
Pace was good
The 21-year old driver ends Friday's test with a positive feeling, despite the fact that there are still some things that need to be adjusted. He is confident that will be fine and is looking forward to the rest of the weekend. "I think the pace today has been quite good. The hard tyre already works well here and then I think we need to adapt the car a bit to the other compounds, so we’ve got some work to do. Overall, I think we’re looking quite strong so far. I didn’t manage to complete any long runs yet, but today’s performance makes me positive."
