Valtteri Bottas is driving for a contract at Mercedes next season and he's been doing a good job this year, but the Finn just missed out on pole in Spain and therefore he's disappointed with himself.
A one-two for Mercedes for the very first time this season, that's great news for the Silver Arrows. Bottas realises that, but at the same time he can't help but feel that he wanted more.
"It was very tense today because everyone was so close," he said.
"Yesterday, the differences were small too, and that's nice to see.
"Unfortunately I messed up my first hot lap in Q3, leaving me with only one chance to set a lap.
"It's a shame for me that the difference was so small, but for Mercedes, it's very good of course.
"We'll try our best to get a one-two tomorrow, like how it should have been in Baku."
Mercedes will not only be hunted down by Ferrari, but also by Red Bull, who have shown excellent pace on longer runs on Friday. That translates to terrific pace during a race, which might cause an upset for the Bulls. Whether Mercedes can hang on tomorrow or if it ends in tears like it did in 2016, only time can tell us. We can't wait for the race tomorrow!
