Sargeant crashes into the wall: Japanese GP qualifying briefly halted

Logan Sargeant crashed out in the first part of qualifying. The Williams driver lost control of his FW45 as he turned onto the straight and collided with the wall, prompting an immediate red flag. Sargeant will therefore start the Japanese Grand Prix last.

Sargeant is the only driver in the field who has not yet beaten his teammate. The American is also the only one not yet sure of a spot on the 2024 grid. This crash will not help him secure a new contract.
