Max Verstappen could secure his fourth
F1 world title this season at the Las Vegas GP. Now, at the
FIA Awards ceremony, the Dutchman was officially crowned as champion, receiving the championship trophy. Together with the Dutchman,
Lando Norris (P2) and
Charles Leclerc (P3) were also handed their awards, while
McLaren were crowned constructors' champions as well.
During the event, every FIA champion received their awards, from karting all the way to rally. Of course, the
Formula 1 titles was not missing from the list either.
Max Verstappen was the last to receive the trophy in Rwanda.
McLaren get trophy for constructors' title
Shortly before, it was McLaren were crowned as the constructors' champion last season. The Woking-based team by represented by CEO
Zak Brown, team principal Andrea Stella, and drivers Norris and
Oscar Piastri. McLaren junior Gabriel Bortoleto was also present. The Brazilian - who will be a rookie next season in
F1 with Sauber - was honoured as
Formula 2 champion and was also awarded the Rookie of the Year award.
It was the first time the FIA Gala was held in Africa. The host country, Rwanda also announced today that it wanted to host a Grand Prix in the near future.
