Sergio Perez's dad, Antonio Pérez Garibay, has posted an update on Instagram after he was hospitalised following his son's crash during the
Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Perez's dad's condition appears to be stable. He allegedly suffered symptoms of a heart attack.
Did Perez's crash with Sainz cause the problem?
Mediotiempo reports that Perez is now better, but doctors want to continue monitoring him. Perez Garibay's heart is still being closely monitored, and some more tests are scheduled.
Checo's dad was hospitalised after the Red Bull driver crashed with
Carlos Sainz in the closing stages of the race in Baku. Perez was fighting for the podium places at the time.
"Everything happened after the accident. The shock of the accident may have caused this. They are already checking my heart to see why I fainted," Perez Garibay said.
Meanwhile, Antonio Pérez Garibay also posted on
Instagram. If the situation continues progressing like this, Sergio's father will soon be discharged.
Sergio Perez will be back in action at the
Singapore Grand Prix this weekend before a long break is scheduled. The
F1 circus then travels to Austin for the US Grand Prix on the 20th of October. The
Mexican Grand Prix follows that event.
