Ferrari has given an update on
Charles Leclerc' s engine that broke down in Azerbaijan. In Canada, the team will come up with a temporary solution to the problem.
Update from Ferrari
Ferrari let it be known in a tweet that Leclerc's engine that failed in Baku is on its way to the factory in Maranello.
"An initial assessment should be completed by the evening," the team writes. Also, the Italians report that the hydraulic components of
Carlos Sainz ' car have already been examined.
"A short-term fix is in place for Canada, while work is on-going on mid/long-term solutions," the short message concludes. The problems at Ferrari seem far from solved, but both drivers could now race in Montreal without technical problems.
Red Bull runs out of time
In Baku, neither of the two Ferraris finished. Sainz retired early in the race and Leclerc not much later. This allowed
Red Bull Racing to drive to an easy one-two finish and increased its lead in the championship.
