Charles Leclerc has been quite convincing during the first three Grands Prix of the season. Not only does he have a good car with which he can fight for the world title, he also showed himself ready for the challenge. It might just have big consequences for Carlos Sainz, according to Ralf Schumacher in conversation with F1insider.com.

Where Leclerc battles with Max Verstappen for pole position every race, Sainz is lagging behind his teammate. During the opening race in Bahrain he managed, partly due to the retirement of Sergio Perez and Verstappen, to conquer the second place, but the distance to Leclerc was great. In Saudi Arabia he took third place, while in Australia he crashed out early in the race.

Leclerc seems to be ahead of Sainz in the pecking order

In short, Sainz is clearly searching for the right form. Ferrari is simultaneously hoping to win the world championship, which it has not managed since 2007. It will therefore not surprise Schumacher that the Italian formation is now focusing all its efforts on Leclerc.

The former Formula 1 driver expects Sainz to know how things are going. "The pecking order at Ferrari has already been established," Schumacher noted. "Carlos Sainz also knows that and is therefore angry."
